What programs does the Bereavement Center offer?
Adults (ages 18 and older):
- Good Grief Support Group- meets every third Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8:00pm. Designed for any individual who has lost a loved one through death. No registration required.
- Infant/Child Loss Group- meets every first Wednesday of the month from 6:00-8:00pm. Designed for any individual who has a lost a child at any stage of life. No registration required.
- Newly Bereaved Widows/Widowers Loss Group- meets once a week for eight consecutive weeks from 6:00-8:00pm. Designed for any individual who has lost a spouse in the past six months of group start date. Registration is required. This group runs several times a year.
Adolescents (ages 13 through 18):
- Through My Eyes Teen Support Group- meets once a week for eight consecutive weeks from 6:00-8:00pm. Designed for any adolescent who has lost a loved one through death. Registration is required. This group runs several times a year.
Children (ages 6 through 12):
- Sunrise Children's Group- meets once a week for eight consecutive weeks from 6:00-7:30pm. Designed for any child who has lost a loved one through death. Registration is required. This group runs several times a year.
- Camp Sunrise- two-day weekend camp held in the summer months at historic Sotterley Plantation. Designed to support children who have lost a loved one through death. Registration is required.
Individual Support (ages 4 and older):
- Bereavement support is available on an individual basis for grief counseling. Appointment is required.
